Charlie:

"Hey," I replied softly, looking at Nemo with curiosity. I shook my head and tossed the file down on the table, and leaned back in my chair, crossing my arms as if I wanted to be alone. "Well, I can't say it's gotten any worse," I joked. "I don't know, but, I know we will get to the bottom of this. Sooner or later, that is." Smirking, I stood up and walked swiftly towards the window, facing towards the darkness over the horizon. Still keeping my back turned, I asked... "Would you like to go out to dinner with me, this evening?" I rubbed my slightly scruffy face, and withdrew my hands from my pockets, turning around to find Ashley still standing there, surprisingly. "So... What do you think?"

After Ashley left my office, silence filled the room. Shrugging, I sat back down, watching Ashley and Nemo walk down the hallway. I grinned, and went back to work.

Caroline:

Smiling, I jumped off the car, and brushed passed Ezra, hitting his shoulder. Sliding into the car, I noticed a few glares from the jocks. Instead of yelling, I clicked on the radio, and started singing along. "When you see my face hope it gives you..." I shouted. When Ezra got in the car, I smiled widely, turned the music down a notch. Talk about being awkward."Your not going to take me to some 'great place' and murder me are you?" I felt my face was serious, so I laughed a little afterwards, then silenced, pushing my blonde hair back.

As the car started moving, I started to get an uneasy feeling in my stomach. Maybe it was just because I was nervous. Yeah, that had to be it, I thought.

"I'll have a cheeseburger with pickles, onions, and ketchup. Oh, and a order of fires." I smiled at the waiter, then quickly moved my eyes back to Ezra. "Sorry, I... Never mind," I laughed. "So, tell me about yourself.." I attempted to come up with a question. "What's your favorite subject in school?" Lame. I felt so stupid. Me, asking a question, about school... Ugh, I placed my hand on my head, and giggled. "Don't answer that. Um.. How about you tell me what you do out of school" his expression looked a little surprised.

Caleb:

A few hours Ashley had left for work, I finally decided to come into the office. I saw Ashley walking out of bosses office with Nemo. "Hey, Ash, what's going on?" I questioned carelessly.

Leaving her alone, I decided to head to my own office. I stood at the wall filled with pictures, graphs, and just about every chart a detective like me could use. Today was going to be a long day.

Opening the murder case file that was on my desk, I looked at the notes I took about Seth Thomas. Something just didn't add up. He couldn't have done this, it just didn't seem like such a thing. Dropping it, I moved onto another file, and continued to work.

Ezra:
I had suffered though the boring school day bringing me to last period, Study Hall. I sat through the class doodling on a piece of paper. I had nothing to study, school was simple. As the class ended I picked up my books and made my way to the parking lot.

I rolled my eyes listening to the loud jocks behind me. As I approached my car I noticed the same blonde haired girl sitting on the hood. "Hey,Um. Do you want to go grab something to eat?" she asked, "Sure, hop in." I replied quietly with a shrug.

I was confused, I'd never spoken to the girl until yesterday, I didn't even know her name. Why was she taking such an interest in me? She looks like the type to be with a jock not some lame nerd.

Seth:
Today I needed to go to the store, so I hopped into my pick up truck and drove into town. In my head I ran over the list of things I needed, Dog food, cat food, flea medicine and, Apples for the horses. I hopped out of the truck and walked into the corner store, I grabbed the few little things and laid them on the counter. I then paid for them and went back to my truck.

As I arrived home, Tango, my Labrador was there to greet me as always he jumped up and licked my face. "Get down you goofball!" I said grinning. Somehow the cats must've smelled the food and came running out to meet me, "I know, I know, your hungry. I'll feed you." I said grabbing the cat food from the bed of my truck. I then went off to feed the cats and flea them as well. "Tango!" I called to my dog, he needed flea'd too. I grabbed his collar as he tried to dash past. "No, you need this silly."

After that, I gave the horses their apples and fed them for the last time that day. I noticed one of my cow's was looking heftier, I shot a glance at the old bull, "Now you've gone and got us more cows you silly thing." I said with a sigh, Maybe I should get him his own pen, or I could just try selling more things at my stand... Maybe I'll try that first.

Ashley:
Nemo was doing great with his training today, so I decided to stop early and go inside to talk with Charlie. "Hey Charlie, how's it going with the case?" I asked walking into his office with Nemo on the harness beside me. The current case was still unsolved, It made my stomach hurt to think that someone would murder a seemingly innocent woman for no reason at all.

I looked at the pictures of the scene on his desk, they were horrifying. The woman was covered in cold crimson blood, it looked like something out of a TV show. I thought of the farmers reaction when he seen the corpse, it was a mixture of surprise and horror, maybe it wasn't him, maybe he can be left alone. That wasn't my choice though, the choice belonged to the investigator.

Ashley:

I had fallen asleep in the car, the alcohol having made me very tired. I was slightly aware of being carried up to my house, then laid on my couch. After that, I guess I fell back asleep, because I didn't remember anything. The next day, I woke up with a terrible headache, so I took an Ibuprofen, got ready for work, fed Nemo, chatted with Caleb, then loaded Nemo into the truck and went to the station, where I immediately started working with Nemo. I ran him through the agility course, timing him each time. The times got quicker and quicker.

After about thirty minutes, I saw Charlie and he waved. I smiled and gave a short wave back, then went back to working with Nemo. It was kind of hard to focus since I was still a little hung over, however the medicine did help.

Caleb:

I heard a knock on my door. I saw Charlie outside with Ashley in his arms. I chuckled to myself, then let them in. Charlie and I chatted for a while, sharing a beer together and just chatting. Charlie was a really good friend of his, boss or not. It was nice to have a good relationship with his boss. Charlie soon left, so I walked him to the door, say my goodbyes, then went to bed after taking Ashley to her own bed and putting Nemo in his crate.

I woke up the next morning, got ready for the day, then made breakfast for Ashley and myself. I didn't come un to work until about thrity minutes after Ashley. She liked to be there early so she could work with Nemo.

Charlie:

Pulling over, I let out a sigh. Caleb was not going to be happy. Especially, since I, his boss, was bringing his younger sister home. Not the best thing someone could probably do. However, Caleb and I have created a strong relationship since I had been here... So, I am sure he'll be fine with it. Lucky for him, I was the one to pick her up, instead of one of those drunk men...

Slipping out of the car, I opened the passenger door to my car, and unbuckled Ashley's seat-belt. Pushing her into my tense arms, I pushed the door closed with my free foot, and started towards the front door. I never realized how much I was actually at their house. The late nights, drinks, dinner, I felt like family. Although, it seemed a little more than that. Mainly when Ashley was around. It was like we were together, and Caleb and I were just good friends. Shaking away the thought, I walked carefully up the brick steps and rung the door bell, awaiting for a familiar face to show.

"Hey," I grinned as Caleb's face appeared, rather shocked. Walking in I set Ashley down on the couch, and followed Caleb to the kitchen. "Man, all I have to say is that I saved her." I joked. "Nah, she was at the bar, and had to many drinks." Leaning up against the counter top, I laughed at Caleb's comment. Taking a drink from the fridge, my eyebrows shuttered. "She may have had to many, but I sure as heck haven't." Pressing the bottle to my lips, I took a sip, and savored it. Grunting, I tried to avoid asking the question but, I just couldn't help myself... "How are you holding up with all of this?"

After the long chat with Caleb, I found my way out the door, not before glancing at Ashley. Darn, why did she have to do this to me...

The next morning was a blur. Sitting at the office, with nothing but distracting myself from doing paperwork, that I dreaded to do... I watched through the glass as Ashley worked with Nemo. She looked like a pro, working with that dog. He was one of the best on our team, I guess because Ashley was such a good trainer. I smiled and waved at her. I could feel my smile widen as she saw me.

Caroline:

Laying down I waited for that one text message. The one text message I longed for. However, I still had school. Sighing, I got dressed in my dark blue dress shirt, and dark denim jeans. Running downstairs, I said goodbye to my parents, who just happened to be home, and ran to my car.

Arriving at school, I went though all the boring classes, waiting for my last class. I saw him. I saw Ezra sitting in the back of the classroom. I was just about to walk over to him, but the teacher caught me. Sighing, I took my seat. After class, hurried out the door, making my way into the parking lot. Finding his small car, I casually laid on it. I laughed at myself a little bit about being on his car.

Watching him walk out of the double doors, I smiled and looked around at the parking lot filled with jocks. Ugh, why did they have to be here... I didn't care. "Hey" I said politely, trying not to make eye contact with him. "Um. Do you want to go grab something to eat?" I felt as though I was being a bit forward, but hey, how else was I going to get to know I guy that wasn't 'popular' and 'known.' Might as well try something different for a change.

Ezra:
I stared blankly as a girl with curly blonde hair walked around the shop. For some reason she looked familiar, I shook my head breaking from my thoughts as she walked up to the counter with a bucket of white paint. She handed me her credit-card to pay. As I swiped it, I noticed her place a small piece of paper on the counter, I handed the card back and watched as she strolled out of the shop.

I picked up the small paper, I wonder what this is... I thought as I flipped the paper over to read what was written on the other side. Text me somtime It read, my eyes widened at the straight-forwardness of the note. I shoved it into my pocket as if I didn't care, but I did, I would text her the next day.

Seth:

This day was like any other day, I fed the horses, cows, pigs, donkey, and chickens when I got up, then came back to the house for breakfast at 7:30. Afterwards I groomed the dog, brushed the horses and started bailing hay. That went on until 12:45 when I stopped for lunch, then I continued until dark which was about, 8:15.

When I got back to the house, I let the dog in for the night and cooked myself some dinner. All the while in the back of my mind I wondered why, that woman was murdered on my property. It made me a suspect, I as sick and tired of the detectives knocking on my door. I have work to do, winter is almost here and I have animals to feed. I didn't kill her but they assume I did, Why would I do such a thing, It baffled me why they would blame it on the farmer.

Ashely:

I walked out of my office, heading over to Charlie's. I knocked lightly, waiting for him to answer. Once he did, I started yammering about the case, but he just walked past me like I wasn't even there after a few seconds. I sighed, went back to my office, and started packing mm things up, putting files away, etc. I grabbed the keys to my K9 truck and went out to it. I was a K9 officer, and my dog, Nemo, was the best dog on the team, even if nobody else thought so. I walked to my truck. I had already taken Nemo to my house a couple of hours ago. I sighed, getting in, starting up the truck, and beginning to drive home. However, I soon found myself going towards the bar. This murder case was taking a toll on me. It was like nothing I've ever seen before. And the monster who had committed it would most certainly pay.

I walked into the bar, sitting down, and ordered a drink. it soon became two. Then three. After that, I lost count, and before I knew it, I was ordering drink after drink, any cares slipping out the window. I then became somewhat award of getting into a car. Who's? I don't know, but at the time, I didn't really care. I just giggled and talked nonstop about work, life, and anything else there was to talk about.

Caleb:

I sat on a park bench, my black work jacket that said "SILVER" on the back keeping me warm. I sipped on my coffee, which was the only thing that was keeping my hands toasty at the moment. I hated Fall and Winter. They were cold.

I looked around. It was getting dark, so there weren't many people at the park. Just a few couples here and there. I smiled slightly. It was a nice night. Charlie let me go early today, which felt kind of strange because I usually hang around after wards to file or do paper work. This murder case had us all rattled though. Nobody was in their right mind really. It was terrible. I could still see the scene itself in my head. Whoever the person was that did this would get caught.

Charlie:

Threading my freezing wet fingers through my short scruffy brown hair, I let out a long sigh. The night couldn't get any worse. I leaned back in my dark wooden office chair, it creaked. Instead of justice, the night had turned into despair. This was the night nobody would forget. It was the first time in two months since this had happened. Yes, two months. This happens often.

Throwing the file on to the table, I thought about the events that had occurred. I had found the woman's body deep in the woods, covered in thick dark blood, surrounded by red rose pedals, laying next to a sliver diamond wedding ring. I got there at just the right time; the moment I discovered her lifeless body. Heck, if I had run faster, I could've saved her. I guess something apart of me didn't want to see the crazy beast who committed the crime; otherwise I'd be filling out a lot of paperwork right now. I remember seeing her slick white formal dress covered in the blood, and those eyes. Gosh, they seemed so frightened, yet beautiful. They appeared to me as blue jewels surrounded by a dark room.

A light knock came upon my office door, making me snap out of my thoughts. It was Ashley, Caleb's younger sister. She was only about four years younger than Caleb, and three years younger than myself. So, we were all pretty close. Caleb would always hang out at the office doing paperwork for me, but, I sent him home. It had been a long night. Come to think of it, Caleb and I are more alike than the guys he works with. I was a detective way before I got promoted to head of the department. Standing up from my black office chair, I picked up my black leather jacket and walked over to the door, and opened it. "Ashley, what are you doing here?" I couldn't make up what she was trying to say, so, I pushed passed her and headed down the hallway. I glanced cautiously at each and every office, making sure no one was still here.

Making my way to the parking lot, I walking over to my sleek black car, turned the key, and opened the door. After a few minutes of driving, I realized how much of a wreck I was... I also realized I would be passing the local bar soon. Sighing, I turned left and pulled into the bar.

Taking a seat at the bar, I motioned for the bartender and asked for my favorite beer. Thanking him, I opened it, and turned myself towards the crowd. All I saw was a bunch of drunk men, teens, and women, of course. Then something caught my eye, it was Ashley. She was dancing around like a crazy person. Putting my beer down on the table, I rushed over to her before she fell. "Ashley," I said calmly. "We need to go, now" I demanded. The grip I had on her arm tightened as a group of no good, belly drunken guys walked in. Pulling her out the door, I now could hear the loud music thumping, compared to the silent street. Opening up the passenger door, I laid Ashley in the seat a tried to buckle her in, but, I fell my mistake. "Darn it" I whispered under my breath. I heard her laugh and giggle. She was definitely drunk. Finally getting into the car myself, I revved the engine, and sped down the road. Caleb wasn't going to be happy about this.

As I drove down the dark road, I couldn't help notice how beautiful Ashely looked.

Caroline:

Walking around the little store, my blonde curled hair bounced with every step as I glanced at the cashier. I couldn't understand that only one girl in the whole school liked him. I mean hey, I was about the most popular girl in school, and I liked him. I hated how guys like him, thought of me as one of those stereotype popular girls. Just becuase I'm skinny, have pale skin, and look 'perfect,' that doesn't mean a thing. Over the past few years, I had taken a strong interest in him. However, I guess he didn't even realize it. If it were up to me, I'd pick him over my low life so called 'friends' any day. I was the nice one. Unlike Sarah Davis, who thinks she rules the school. Come to think of it, it sure as heck seemed like it... I only see Ezra three times during the school day; at lunch, our last period, and in the parking lot. His car is always parked two down from mine. His car looked nice, considering he is not a jock. Even though I knew well enough that most of the kids at this school had nice cars. I may seem popular, but, I get bullied just as much as everyone else. One leg after the other, I picked up the white paint, and headed to the front. "Good afternoon" I greeted sweetly. Not to sweet, but, just to the point where he would at least look at me. Pulling out my wallet, I handed him my credit card. After watching him bag my things, I gave him a smile and walked out of the little store out into the darkness. I smiled as I walked to my car. I hope he noticed the note I placed on the counter. It read "Text me sometime" along with my number. I really hope he would.

After getting home, I put the white paint on the counter for my father, and headed up the stairs.
